I recently did an interview with a new channel entitled Modernity, Decline of Britain, & Finding Meaning in Spiritual Tradition, it's worth checking out if you have some free time
I listened to this one on YouTube and found it a very satisfying listen - keep up the good work, Richard, you're articulating what I (and I suspect many more) feel
Richard, this is one of my favourite podcast conversations. So much of what you talk about resonates and I’m always struck by how sincere you come across.
I finally got round to listening to this. I really enjoyed it.
On the last question of wishing we were younger so we wan see more of the future I'd point back to the discussion about building a cathedral and knowing you won't see it through...personally I'd rather be the guy who built it than the guy who took a selfie outside of it but maybe that's unusual.... Also been young now would mean I'd missed the 80s/90s so I think as strange as the world is today I'd stick with been born when I was.
Ive been living in a bit of a working, dogs, gym, training bubble these last few months and I love it here!
Yeah, many men feel the same, we're somewhat atomised at present. Yet that's the aim of this Substack (and associated calls). Hopefully down the line I'll put on a few in-person meets/events too
There’s Men’s Clubs popping up all over. However I don’t want to rock up at one and it’s just Football ( though I do like it , not so much as I used to) and topics like that. Having said that I think these Men’s spaces allow any topic and discussion. There’s one over the road from me , Andys Man Club” and I must give it a go.
I did go to a man’s club but it felt very left leaning. I tried to voice my concerns to some old friends the other week and they looked at me like an alien. I’m fortunate to live in a very English area but I can see what’s coming and it’s breaking me heart, others however seem blissfully ignorant.
Hi Tom. Hope you’re ok. I’m sorry to hear of your pain. As you’ll be aware I’m not the healthiest of men so I try and live by the cliched “ one day at a time”. It’s the only way I could get through this current hell. Another cliche I’m just thankful for my blessings.
I’m with you on the people seemingly blissfully ignorant. That’s because they are. Believe everything they’re spoon fed. My old man a bit like that. Whenever I start going on about the current state of this country , despite his dislike of the illegal immigrants, he will just say “ Oh don’t get started again”. When I say “ How does it not bother you”? He will just reply “ Because I won’t be around to see it”. No but your grandson Tom will be and his kids. That answer just infuriates me. Ironic thing is he IS around to see it as it’s all happening around him although he lives in a 98 per cent white British village. Furthermore he makes out like what I’m saying is so insane and I’m like some sort of nut job. Like I’m in a cult!
You’ll find the right place that suits your ideologies I’m sure. Don’t give up my friend. Take care. 🙏🏼
Great interview thus far , only thing is when I stop listening to carry on at a later date it’s always gone back to the start. Any ideas how can I can carry on from where I left off please?
Always loved that question “ If a tree falls in a forest and there’s nobody around to hear it ………..”.

Thanks for the support, mate. Much appreciated!

Ah, thanks Tom, glad you enjoyed it my friend 🙏

Glad to hear you're making it work! The times we're living in can be times of death or times of rebirth depending on how we approach things
I wish I knew people near by like yourself I could meet in a local pub with and discuss all of these topics!

Yeah, men's meets can be like that. It's very annoying. In fact, that's one reason I'm looking to create something more trad on here down the line.

It may be because the video's embedded on the SS, let me look into it as that normally doesn't happen on YT
Thanks Richard. I’ve made a note of where I’m at anyway. Have a good weekend.
You too, mate
